#4404: Find and Replace text boxes have a right-click Cut / Copy / Paste / Select All menu

[Bug] Right-click context menu "Paste" option is non-functional or missing in Find/Replace text fields [Bug] Right-click context menu "Paste" option is non-functional or missing in Find/Replace text fields Description: As a user editing text in the Find & Replace dialog, I want to right-click inside the "Find" or "Replace with" input field and select "Paste", So that I can insert clipboard content using the mouse, just as Ctrl+V already does via keyboard. Actual behavior: Right-clicking the input field either does not show a context menu or clicking "Paste" fails to insert text from the system clipboard. Keyboard Ctrl+V works properly. Expected behavior: The context menu "Paste" action sho

The windows are titled `Name:1` and `Name:2` and each keeps its own caret, scroll position, zoom and view; edits and Undo are the document's and show in both. Closing one of them asks nothing; the last one asks about unsaved changes, and quitting asks once per document. - 2026-10-22: One native window per open document on the desktop. File › New and Open (from the ribbon, File, shortcuts, the file manager, the command line or the control channel) open the document in a window of its own, focused and placed a step below and right of the last one; opening a file replaces a blank document nobody has used in its own window, and a file that is already open brings its window to the front. Each window keeps its own ribbon tab, File page, dialogs, panes, scroll position and composition. View › Window › Switch Windows lists the windows and brings the chosen one forward. File › Close and a window's close button close that window, asking about unsaved changes first; the last window stays open with no document. Quitting asks about each document with unsaved changes in its own window, and Cancel keeps everything open. The control channel's input and screenshots go to the window focused last. The web app keeps one window. - 2026-10-22: Recovery covers every open document. Each dirty document keeps its own copy, written on the same ten-second cadence whether it is shown or not; closing a document without saving deletes its copy, as saving does, and a clean exit deletes the copies of every document saved or closed since its last copy. File › Recover lists only copies no open document keeps, and Restore opens a copy as another document (or in place of an untouched blank one), so it never replaces work. Word's `^&`, `^p`, `^t`, `^c` and the other `^` codes work there too (with Special characters off, only the `^` codes are taken literally). A group that doesn't exist, didn't take part in the match or is out of range expands to nothing; a `$` that starts no group, an unclosed `${`, and other `\` escapes stay as written. Plain and wildcard Replace are unchanged. Word has no regular-expression mode; this follows the Rust `regex` crate's Replace syntax. +## Find and Replace: the text boxes' right-click menu (#4404)++A right-click in **Find what**, **Replace with** or Go To's **Enter page number** opens **Cut**, **Copy**, **Paste** and **Select All**, as the system's text boxes in Word's dialogs have; before, a right-click there did nothing and only Ctrl+V pasted. As on the page, a right-click in the box's selection keeps it, so Cut and Copy (greyed out without one) take what was selected, and a right-click elsewhere moves the caret there, so Paste goes where you clicked. Paste reads the system clipboard's text into the box, never into the document, and behaves as Ctrl+V does there: it replaces the selection, and line breaks become spaces in the one-line box. The dialog stays open and the box keeps the keyboard. On the web, where a page can only read the clipboard on Ctrl+V, Paste is greyed out. Word's Windows menu also has Undo, Delete and the right-to-left entries; Ctrl+Z still undoes in the box. The menu is `crate::field_menu::text_field`, ready for the other dialogs' text boxes.+ ## Find navigation (#2096) Find selects the Results tab, including when it prefills selected text. Editing the search query also reveals matching or empty results. Manual Headings and Pages navigation remains available until the next search action.@@ -82,6 +86,7 @@ Footnote and endnote editing keeps body and note text at normal opacity, on ligh | Date | Change | Summary | |---|---|---|+| 2026-10-27 | trivial | Find and Replace: a right-click in Find what, Replace with or Go To's page box opens Cut, Copy, Paste and Select All; a right-click in the selection keeps it and one elsewhere moves the caret there, and Paste reads the system clipboard into the box, not the document (#4404) | | 2026-10-22 | trivial | View › Window › New Window opens another window on the document, focused and cascaded; two windows on one document are titled `Name:1` and `Name:2` (one window: the plain name).
